I work with the little tidbits that nature has to offer, especially those that are ordinarily raked up and bagged as debris. Leaves and husks, offering just skeletal remains, become a conduit to the narrative of my ideas. I combine these pieces of natural debris that I collect with found objects that have been rusted and weathered by the environment and new items I fabricate in my studio. I manipulate these three elements so that together they are transformed into a new creation, one that celebrates growth and acknowledges decay – I see this juxtaposition as crucial to our evolving existence.
